RUBANDA UGANDA: Police in Rubanda District are searching for a 28-year-old man, Turyamureba Theophil, who is accused of killing his elder brother, Bainomugisha Chrispus (31), following a domestic altercation.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night in Isingiro Cell, Igomanda Parish, Hamurwa Sub-county in Rubanda District.

According to reports, the deceased returned home late, allegedly under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and began harassing family members. This reportedly provoked the suspect, his younger brother, to pick up a stick and repeatedly strike him on the head, resulting in his death.

Authorities say a manhunt is underway, and the public has been urged to provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.

SP Nelson Tumushime, PRO for Kigezi Region, appealed to communities to help guide youth away from alcohol and substance abuse, warning that such behavior continues to fuel domestic violence and fatal disputes.

Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
